Description
Once again, a portrait.This time, it is an exercise with black and tones of yellows and oranges. I had lots of fun with this portrait. I found it easier now to draw. Though, I still need some practice, I have a hard time drawing hair, but in this case, I kind of like the effect it gave. My black pencil is shrinking so fast, sadly.
It is a portrait of one of the Gazette's guitarist; Aoi.
I really liked the concept of the picture.
Tools: Prismacolor scholar coloring pencils and the eraser.
Black markers for the borders.
Reference used.
Done on a 9 x 12 in Bristol paper.
Time : ~18hrs

Wow excellent work here! The colours use really conjure the right effects and lighting, it's nice to look at. Especially love the yellow in Aoi's hair, fits well with the title too

YouΒ΄ve done an amazing job there, honestly! Usually, I donΒ΄t like the combination black-yellow, but it looks perfect here in my opinion! It produces a wonderfull effect :3

This was one portrait I wanted to draw for a long time.
It came out okay (well more than okay, I like it, so that's a good start), but I like the yellow even if I can't draw hair to save my life. I gave it a more graphic nature xD

Btw, what has happened to his fingers? I mean why are they all black? (It's really cool, and it makes a nice effect, but I'm just curious^^)

I'm not quite sure what happened to his fingers. Through out the pictures from the photoshoot, I think he kind of wrestled with either paint or ink? But the concept is really cool!
