Okay so, I'm on a Naruto hiatus for a bit, as you can tell I've fallen into Monkie Kid, hard, and there's just no point fighting it, I'm just gonna let it run it's course

AND OF COURSE WHO ELSE TO HYPERFOCUS ON THAN THE HOT MONKEYS, SPECIALLY THE EDGY ONE, GOD HELP ME

Anyways, I'm gonna kick this off with a bunch of headcanons:

-Macaque actually DOES have six ears, as his name suggests, he's just hiding them with an illusion/shapeshifting because he's embarassed by them
The idea for this came to me when I saw his 2009 chinese cartoon design (where they were childhood friends with Wukong by the way), I immediately thought "oh god, Lego Macaque with rainbow ears"

(Also fuck DA for not letting me add stuff from my stash without Core anymore)

-Same with his scar and his right eye, that got damaged one time Wukong almost killed him, his right eye actually went blind from the damage
The idea for this simply came to be because in the original novel Journey to the West Wukong kills Macaque by bashing his skull in with his staff, so I figured in this version the blow only ALMOST killed him and left him with a scar and a blind eye

As for the concept of this whole drawing, yes I'm already high on the redemeeming Macaque juice, so I'm thinking he got captured after some fight and got the circled put on him cause they need to keep him around for a reason I haven't thought of yet, and he'll get slowly tamed as the story progresses I guess

And in his case the circlet is also supposed to block his special abilities so he can't keep up the illusion/shapeshifting to hide his ears, which is why he's so pissed of in this pic

I'll also make OCs out of the other two Spiritual Monkeys that were mentioned in Journey to the West and there'll be a whole monkey team-up with the Four Spiritual Monkeys all training MK and him becomming like the honorary 5th Monkey, yes I know this is all cringe as fuck but it makes me happy so yall just gonna have to deal
I also plan to maaaybe design a new outfit for Macaque along the line

Also I'm just gonna called this the 4+1 Monkeys AU

As for the background I just edited that from the show, because this wasn't supposed to be a full-on serious drawing, also it's almost 3 am and I gotta go to bed and I have other things to draw
