Yes x'D nowadays Spain it's quite anti-catholic, tough. But the religious heritage he spread on Latinamerica hasn't faded at all .__.U ... Lol x'D Mexico, for example, has the second largest population of catholic people.
Your spanish is quite good, actually. You speak internationally. And that's good, beacause it's hard to get used to spanish speaking countries' vox populi, once you learn to say something in a city, you realize it means something different in another (This happens in every country in the world, but it does more oftenly in big countries). Talking about hispanic countries some that have remarked differences between regions are Mexico, Argentina (Gosh, don't go there to learn spanish if you want to understand the rest of hispanic countries spanish. You'll be only able to understand Uruguayan spanish if you base your spanish studies in Argentina. It's a nice place, tough. And they are in the 2nd place in my "countries that have the most awesome hispanic rock bands" ranking, just after Spain. Then followed by Mexico), Colombia, Chile and Venezuela. You may learn "international spanish" by watching anime dubbed in European Spanish and Latinamerican Spanish (depending on the one you're willing to learn the most)... D; some people recommend watching news and formal spanish tv shows... but even the news are infested with regionalisms.
