I think Gatomon's mega depends if she does or does not have her holy ring. With ring = Ophanimon. Without ring = Magnadramon. As for why Palmon's mega is Rosemon, the Season 1 Digidestined digimon aside from Agumon and Gabumon were originally meant to have Mega forms as well, but they didn't have time to include them and so they were left as concept to be revisited at a later time. And Digimon Adventure Tri made it official.

I have to disagree about Ophanimon; there are all sorts of reasons why Magnadramon are the more suitable Mega.
(1) The design aesthetic of the angel duo. Despite what the word angel might immediately connotate, angels aren't exclusively white-winged humans. Real Life Ophanim looks strongly lovecraftian, Seraphim are creature of holy fire, and some interpretations of Cherubs look akin to strange demons. Or, to rephrase that: Magnadramon (the pink dragon) is as much an angel as Angemon and Angewomon are.
More to the point (pardon the aside), Salamon and Patamon focus on different interpretations of divine creatures, with a 3-1 ratio of Humans and Beasts (as Frontier labels the species), breaking thematic stride only once.
In Salamon's case, the overarching theme is animals: Salamon - Gatomon - Angewomon - Magnadramon.
In Patamon's case, the overarching theme is humans: Patamon - Angemon - MagnaAngemon - Seraphimon.
While this is merely speculation and should absolutely be considered such, shoehorning Ophanimon into Magnadramon's role does away with the subtleties of their design in favor of looser speculation (we were not shown Ophanimon's evoline in Frontier, after all: It might even go Salamon - Nefertimon - Shakkoumon - Ophanimon, for all we know).
(2) The general design aesthetic of the Adventure 8. Each of them can be sorted into dualistic pairs.
(2.1) WarGreymon (fire, biped) & MetalGarurumon (ice, quadruped).
(2.2) Hououmon (fire, avian) & Plesiomon (water, sea creature).
(2.3) HerculesKabuterimon (insect) & Rosemon (plant), a pairing with a dominant nature theme to it.
(2.4) Again, my argument boils down to Magnadramon contrasting with Seraphimon in being respectively bestial and humanoid angels.
Pardon my rant, but seeing Magnadramon get the shaft so that the shippers can present a further argument in favor of Takari really irks me something fierce.
