I must say I hate when people go "She moves in such a sexy way, so she must have been really good looking in her prime!" (and then draw Barbie-like versions of her).
Ursula _is_ good looking, peeps! She is a fat, sensual, bodacious, magnificent bitch. Gotta live with that! ^__^

But do not let looks fool you or you will not realize just how terrifying she can be. It is really saying something when the lesser extent of her intimidating antics is her telling her servents of her enemies' weakness. She can make just transforming into a giant version of herself look threatening. Hell, while disguised as a smug beauty queen, she looks her real self in the mirror and laughs like a monster. A true master of evil.

Edit: Also what's to say she didn't look like that in her prime as well? Pretty sure she didn't/doesn't care what anyone thought of her, and did as she damn well pleases

Ugh! I love it! Ursula is by FAR my favorite Disney villain(ess). Neat fact, when they were designing her character, Pat Carrol (who voiced her in the Disney rendition) was the one who suggested that she was a cross between a Shakespearean actress and a used car salesman (er... woman rather).
BUT! I love it! Her facial expression, her posture. Perfect!!

I think it'd be neat to do a composite of Ursula the way Disney designed her and her primary appearance in the actual fairytale. That'd be something to see.

I enjoy your style on Ursula. Most artists draw her skinny or super-hag, it's hard to find artists drawing Ursula as Disney had.

I think of her as more of a sophisticated hag. My illustration is aimed to be closer to the movie rendition.
