The amazing Castle or Alkazar(or Qasir in arabic) of Segovia, I really loved this city because this is what i thought about then i thought of Spain, old walled European cities with multicultural influences!

when we arrived it was so bitter cold that my friends had to wait for me in a nearby cafe! but I still loved it! walking through the small streets, past the magnificent cathedral and its square and coming onto the castle sitting on the outcrop in the end!

I wish I could have spent more time there, in fact this is one of my reasons to go back!

also apparently this castle influenced the design of Disney's fairytale castle!

"The Alcázar of Segovia (literally, Segovia Castle) is a stone fortification, located in the old city of Segovia, Spain. Rising out on a rocky crag above the confluence of the rivers Eresma and Clamores near the Guadarrama mountains, it is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape – like the bow of a ship. The Alcázar was originally built as a fortress but has served as a royal palace, a state prison, a Royal Artillery College and a military academy since then."[link]
