Description I feel like I've drawn this out for so long, I should have posted all the pictures months ago, but I've been so busy with other projects that I got lazy at the thought of posting last of the ! so after this Spanish series I will post shots from my trips to Rome and Mecca.

this is one of the rooms on the ground floor in the Alkazar of Seville Im kinda disappointed with it as it looks a bit out of focus, shooting here was so difficult with all the people wondering around and also the lack of a tripod!

"The Almohades were the first to build a palace, which was called Al-Muwarak, on the site of the modern day Alcázar. The palace is one of the best remaining examples of mudéjar architecture. Subsequent monarchs have added their own additions to the Alcázar."

information of note that i'd like to mention, is that a lot of the Islamic decoration that you see in the modern palace was actually created during Christian rule, apparently Gothic want really popular for palaces, and the palace grounds where not accessible to the general public, so the church (& inquisition) couldn't do anything to the monarchy!

Beautiful. I know that season five of Game of Thrones filmed a bunch of scenes in Seville/southern Spain, and I think this exact room was used:

Oh my goodness, I have been there! I'm amazed that you managed to get the walls, arches and roof in without any people in the photo! I think I preferred that castle even to the Alhambra in Granada, and this room was my favourite.

lol you have no idea how long I had to wait till I got an empty frame! and its still not the image that i would have like to have gotten!

Yeah i agree that this place was absolutely beautiful! my personal problem with Alhambra was the fact that they forced you through the old palace as if you where on a march!

I can imagine, I wanted a photo of my friend in the midst of some of the pillars, and I made her wait for ages posing there. She was more annoyed than I was. And yeah, in the end, I don't know if I got the photo that I wanted - I haven't seen the pictures yet.

That sounds pretty unpleasant. Thankfully they didn't do that to us. We were free to wander around as we wanted to. Which part of the Alhambra did they hurry you through?

Nooo! We never got hustled through any part. Perhaps you went during high season in July or something? Although I think every season is high season in the Alhambra...

That is really beautiful! I marvel not only at the architecture, but the skilled craftsmanship in executing all of the intricate mosaics!

yeah totally, its a shame that this no longer exists! I really wish the Arab world still built things like this!
