I really wanted to talk about how this city is so significant to me as it experienced a period of beautiful unity between the three religions of the peninsula, and achieved a whole new level of intellectual achievement.

between 1035- 1085 under Muslim rule and patronage(and even later post 85 under the rule of alphonso the 6th), Christians Muslims and Jews put aside any differences in religion and concentrated on knowlage, specifically astronomy and the translation and study of "lost" Greek/ancient texts, the city became THE city of knowledge and some propose, laid down the foundations of the renaissance of European thinking..... truly a jewel of the Iberian peninsula and something we in this region should learn from!
