A dress & headpiece I made in its entirety (designing, sewing, any and all attaching) with various materials, and most noticeably sticks that I collected around my neighborhood whenever the desire to do so struck me.I made this dress for a new series titled "Fears & Fairytales" with fine art photographer Brooke Shaden [[link] based off of a description of the shoot and what she would like for the dress. Taking into consideration what she wanted, I planned out and designed the piece considering how it would be placed on the model, the orientation of the sticks, and the overall construction and durability.

What skill! The flow of the dress compliments the organic nature of the material as well as flattering the figure of the beautiful model. The twigs also seem brittle (even if they are not) and would snap just like ice in winter time. Everything about this image adds to the atmosphere of the cold winter wilds, and the mystery of the character. I am not normally one to take time looking at textiles or clothing outwith my reenactment and modelling but this is an amazing art peice!
