Oh, thanks for sharing such a lovely piece from the series. Sorry that it never got used as intended, but I love it all the same. The characters' portraits capture their attitudes very well, and I especially love Doom Kitty's cool pose on the steps in hers. So were Ruby's and Iris' portraits in a different view? (Maybe Ruby has returned to her roots and is up in the attic, playing her records.) I see Boo has made a few friends, and who's tat new guy(s)? The skewed doors and balusters, etc, add a lot of rickety charm to the old mansion, plus all those skull candleholders are great for keeping the spooky mood.
It'd be neat to see what the kitty phone and ballerina wind-up do (both extra-creepy for their almost CGI-like cleanness), but what I'm most intrigued by is the book. Maybe those faces on the open doorframe will tell me.
By the way, was there ever a (mostly) fixed floor plan for Gloom Manor or was a lot of it done on-the-fly as needed?
Anyway, it's a lovely and very clean scene with a great atmosphere for the old place.
