These things creep me out so bad, it's not even funny. Only my fear of the Haunts surpasses that of the Craymen.
Nice work

Anybody here ever thought about eating one? It's like a human sized shrimp! LOL!

Very nice, although I agree with idlanier10 that the red things in the sides of its head are its stalk eyes (like the ones crabs have) and the dark spots over its mouth are not eye sockets but some sort of nostrils or orifices. I think making those holes into eyes makes the crayman a bit too humanlike.

Thanks.
Well, I agree with you, that original concept by Looking Glass include big red compound eyes. But remember - almost all my Thief-related pictures are fan-redesign. I have not purpose to capture original conception, I don't try to present it unchanged. I only present my impressions, which I had playing Thief years back, even if they are erroneous. That's why I often ignore factors like graphic engine limitations. And I really wanted crayman to look less arthropod-like and more bizzare-alien-humanoid-like. Also, both conceptions (original and my) are absurd from anatomical and scientific point of view, because crayman is fiction creature, "made up" from parts of different animals. For example crayfishes and crabs are different creatures, crayfishes have little black eyes, not big and red. Summing up, I accept primacy of original Looking Glass design, but I see the main purpose of Thief fan-art in exchange of playing impressions, whether this impressions are wrong or not.

loved it, for some reason i always thought that the red thing on either side of the head was its eyes...

I love the craymen so much... the intensely creepy noises they'd make *shudder*. I love all the details on its carapice.
