"Mom?"
"Hmmm?" Birk concentrating having the limed light of her magic paint her skin lemon green.
"Why her?" Birk stopped and looked at her daughter confused
"Why who?"
"Why Paris?"
Birk sights: "is this because of what the other kids tell you? Or their parents? that same sex couples are wrong?"
Athena's eyes widened, "of course not!" she exclaimed, "why would that be wrong I mean - love is love right?"
"Then what is it about then?"
"Why not a thendrofina?"
Birk kept her eyes narrowed, "I don't see why this is any different from the same sex issue"
"No I mean ... why did you choose a centaur? I mean sure love works in strange ways but she is another species. She is powerful and strong and so full of energy. We? We are tree spirits! Bound to the same place forever protecting our home and our mother tree. Don't you - don't you think she would become tired of us never being able to leave? Aren't you afraid she in the end would leave us behind?"
Birk bowed down pushed a dark tuft of hair away from Athena's eyes
"My dear," she said, "the moment I let doubt like this into my heart, I've already lost. I need to keep faith in Paris that this won't happen. That our love is stronger than her desire for change."
"Well ... it is so far," chimed in another voice. The pale centaur galloped into the scene pushing the swords down their hilts before whipping her near-white hair back hair ear. "Don't you worry about me, kiddo," she said while trotting her way to her girlfriend giving Birk a welcoming kiss, "I will not leave you guys, I promise."
"I believe you, aunt Paris," Athena said, smiling a bit worrisome at first then repeating as if to no one but herself: "I believe you."

You may wonder about the title and that is because of the story shown above this star I've had this idea since first thinking about making Birk and Paris an official couple so don't hate on me :'3
Not is short and probably not that great but here it is

Now we've that out of the way I hope you enjoy this little black and white portrait of the royal thendrofina family as it is right now: Queen Birk, her adopted daughter Athena and her girlfriend the palomino centaur Paris ^V^ I realised it has been forever since I drew a multiple character fullbody sketch so here is one for all of you
