Description It is a cultural tradition to dance with fire on the beach around the full moon on Aitutaki Atoll in the Cook Islands. One of the coolest nights I had on this remote beach!

Fire's glow in the darkness of night sure is beautiful... Why, if it didn't have the isk of burning, I'm sure fire shows like these would be everywhere!

Any chance this is the group with the twin guys? If so, I know the guy who's not the twin.

I've seen fire dancers once but they didn't stand on each other and stuff.. I mean, that could go terribly wrong!

Great capture!

Gorgeous shot. It took me a couple seconds to realize that the one who's standing is standing on the other man's legs.

how does a cultural tradition differ from a tradition?

Traditions can be anything from personal to familial to cultural. A cultural tradition, as is implied, is a tradition shared by a culture. One could just say 'tradition', but he was probably just being specific.

Not any time soon, but I'll be hitting you up for some photo tips when I do get the chance. I was there for a week in 2000 and loved it! Thanks for the comments!
