Description The thin ice on the edge of a lake was broken and then piled up on the edges by a powerful wind leaving this mosaic of patterns in the stacked ice. It's a glacial lake which gives it a nice spectrum of green and blue.

I have witness happen before in nearby ponds and lakes during especially frigid winters. You did produce a photo that visually describes the feeling of these "especially frigid winters".

I agree with foureyes - this is somewhat different from your usual. It's interesting and well-executed, but not quite as impactful as some of your other work. Still, variety is the spice of photography as well as life!

Thanks Vincent! I've been getting a ton of website hits from France lately- I really appreciate the link!!! It's a real testament to your popularity too since I'm sure all of those hits are coming from your site. Hope you're doing well and have an adventurous summer planned. I'll post some more Nepal shots once i get caught up with my 'real' job... I can't wait until the day I get to see your images from the Himalaya!

Cheers!

Hello Mike,

I hope to go to Himalaya as soon as I can, but Yet I have to take care of my little daughter who was born on April, the 13th. So my adventurous trip won't be for soon

Thanks for the compliment.

Wow! Excellent shot, sir. Makes me want to touch it. o3o But it's probably really cold. But then again, it's really hot where I am, so I don't think I'd mind.

This picture is surreal looking, I haven't seen ice do that in my experiences with it. The colors of the lake are beautiful too.
