Description Hey, all. Been doing some more studying. ^_^ This is based of off the 3rd lesson by Walt. This one was called action analysis and dealt a lot of the action of the characters. Action… not pose. Pose is something still. Action is a moment in time that you’re trying to capture on paper. The effect of pose on clothing is a big point, as is the fact that clothing is used to accentuate movement. One major point mentioned is that the details of a picture change in regard to what is being highlighted. I think that’s awesome! I tell you, he speaks so much truth.

So, to practice this I went to a playground and sketched kids playing for about 20 minutes. One thing I noticed right away is that kids don’t stay still for very long… at all. I couldn’t draw something based one what I was seeing, but rather based on what I *saw*. I would look for an interesting pose, memorize it quickly and get it on the paper. Once again, sketching with pen to help me pick “the right lines” as opposed to “scribbling to find them”. There is definitely a different feel to it.

People in motion *do not* look the same as people “ posing” for a shot. The urgency of the positioning of the characters is very different. I look forward to exploring this further.
Hope you like it! Have a great weekend!

Black Ink Pen: 15 - 30 sec each

drawing still poses at a playground is a difficult proposal at best. Looking good though.
