Description Little known outside of the Elemental Plane of Fire, Ruby dragons are a reclusive breed of dragon and a very difficult one to study, due in large part to their penchant for living at the bottom of lakes of molten fire. They are taxonomically classified as Gem dragons. Because of their penchant for fire, colouration and similar physical characteristsics, it has been proposed that Ruby and Red dragons are related. Our researchers have attempted to set the matter to rest once and for all by asking the dragons themselves, but the ruby dragon Ssessrulan politely declined comment, and none of our colleges have heard from the party who went to petition Vrulargex the Magnificent, a local red dragon. For those wishing to tell the two apart, some key features are the wings (narrower by far in rubies) the belly and horns (reds have yellow bellies and horns) and the absense of stripes and a frill in ruby dragons.

Ruby dragons rarely leave their favoured plane, and when they do visit the Material Plane, they prefer blazingly hot deserts or pool of molten rock. This leads them into conflict with many Prime dragons, though the ruby's array of psionics can often drive off dragons immune to its breath. Their breath weapon is a cone of white-hot flame that can melt stone (as well as pretty much everything else). In spite of their formidable nature, ruby dragons are by and large non-violent, prefering to solve problems with diplomacy and comprmise.

Very impressive. It even gives me a couple thoughts of how to improve my little world I've been working on. Ofcourse, I will not steal any of your wonderful ideas, but the motivation is a great thought. I really like the sketch except for the strange expression o.o
