Description So this took a while. Okay understatement. The sketch for this I made about two years ago. I have made several attempts to paint it since then but somehow I never saw it through. Few weeks ago I started it again and now it's actually finished! I'm pretty satisfied with it, hope you like it too!

Completely painted in Adobe Photoshop 7.0
regular hardedge round brush

EDIT: uploaded a slightly smaller size, noone likes too much horizontal scrolling

Thank you. I didn't use a lot of fancy tools for this painting, actually just the paintbrush and the eraser.. so it wasn't a very complicated proces photoshop-wise.

Nice work. Maybe go a little darker witht the orange tones so the clouds will stand out more and you'll have more sense of depth?

Thanks, maybe the contrast could have been a bit more yeah, but I also wanted to keep a kind of soft look. thanks for the suggestion though, keeping it in mind!

I hardly ever use the smudge tool anymore. In this painting I didn't use it at all. It's all done with the normal brush, the blending too.

I find it pretty difficult to explain how I paint something, but i'll try. For the clouds I start with really big shapes and then I try to refine them, adding shades and lights and just keep detailing, blending, detailing some more! I also look at a lot of reference pictures and the actual clouds outside my window. Hope that helps!
