EDIT: Technical Details
Due to the amazingly huge amount of interest in this photo [thanks, guys. lots. seriously. I don't quite understand it but I'm glad you liked this one] and the large amounts of questions on technical details, here they are:
Camera: Canon Powershot G1
Settings: Manual [A: 250 F: 2.0 (stopped down as far as it could go for optimum light and a very short depth of feild) ], Manual Focus as far in as I possibly could [macro], flash off
Filters: Peice of really super flimsy tissuepaper over the lens to act as a soft focus filter.
Post Exposure Treatment: Photoshop - minor levels and colors because I forgot to choose the proper 'white balance' and 'lighting' settings.
Model Info: It's me. I had lots and lots of eyeshadow [turquois blue and shiny purple] on my eyes which I then washed off and smeared down my face a bit. I wet down my face and hair and stood in front of a window with camera in hand to take the shot using the LCD screen to center myself and check focus/light before making the exposure.

Absolutely wonderful amount of detail working in contrast with the bright and mild colors and washed out areas of the picture. Just love how you set it up, so very skillful. The makeup is, of course, the perfect touch for that emphasis in the right places, and the wild hair accentuates the rest of your face beautifully. Great color choices by the way, work perfectly with your complexion/eyes. After looking at it long enough in wonder, I was even noticing the little hairs on your jawline, those ones that everyone has that are almost invisible. Fantastic picture, definitely +favs.

You look as if on the verge of emotional death. All beauty and life captured before it left only a shell of banality. I used to deny photograph was an art, only a skill in capturing images through diffrent perspectives. I was so adament about this. I think your photograph has enlightend me.

This is one of the best photos I've ever seen on DA.
Technically, it's perfect. The contrast levels are right, the focus is set just right to give the fascinating detail level in the eyes, and it's not grainy.
Compositionally, it's fascinating. The photo pulls you in and your eye moves naturally over the entire canvas.
And the colors... the colors leave me breathless. This photo is perfect.
You should be proud.

the colors here are wonderfull, and the pic in general so light... i like overexposed a lot, often. the cropping is also very well done. u used wide angle lens, right ? on purpose i guess ? i would just maybe like to see this a little bt less distorted. but i do like it as it is as well.
