Description
Swarm represents the emotions I felt in March of 2020. Without going into to much detail I was suffering from a mixture of anxiety and depression for several years following up to being sent home from my first year of college. There I was forced to confront my issues as I was no longer able to hide my feelings from those around me. The fish are a physical manifestation of my fears, anxiety, and depressive thoughts. Depression is not some terrifying monster, to me it's the culmination of all the small issues or trepidations that create loops in my head. I wanted the subject (girl) to be looking up through the swarm to remind myself that even when I am surrounded by these thoughts I can always take a breath and look through them to a clear sky.
