Aged down Rhubarb Pie & aged up Starswirl,, here they both are around 16
These two are an odd pair, on every conceivable way. They probably met at a diplomatic meeting, Star noticed the loud hybrid and felt a wave of strange mixed feelings, relief for not being the only odd creature in the room, disbelief over how swiftly he joked and laughed with creatures that didn't even spoke the same language as him, a bit of fear over how much noise he made with every crackle of laughter, and a bit of fascination over his beautiful hazel eyes. Gathering herself up as best as she could, she spent the evening avoiding him and his attempts to socialize, Star really didn't wanted to be put under the spot, and as the evening went by she succeeded, and she left the event with a strange sense of disappointment.

A few weeks later, the new ambassador of Yakistan was expected to arrive to Ponyville and report to Twilight Sparkle about Yakistan's progress in friendship, he noted Star as soon as he arrived, he was always drawn to people he identified with, and you didn't come across a pony hybrid everyday in Yakistan or Ponyville, plus she was pretty cute, he immediately took a liking to her, wanting desperately to be her friend, the young princess wasn't too fond of his ambitions, he seemed nice but he was just too loud for her, and she always felt awkward and blushy around him, she was scared of not having anything to talk with him about, this put off the prince a little bit, he didn't wanted to push her too much, but he was sure the both of them could be the best of friends. Eventually they got used to each other's company, and even experienced some adventures together, by the time it was time for Rhubarb to go back home Star had already gotten used to having him around, they were very sad to say goodbye. To this day they're still penpals and write to each other often, and when they got to be reunited, the princess was became more assertive and adventurous, and the Yak hybrid was always brimming with pride for his friend and her newfound confidence (a dumb cheesy grin escaped his mouth when he thought that he had something to do with the princess's mood). It took them some time to figure out they had feelings for each other, but they complement each other and are each the other's best friend.

This was born out of a very specific brand of masochist procrastination, I have so much to do but I had to get this out of my system if I wanted to get anything done, decided to experiment with lighting on the process, but I think I like the plain version better
