Well I have two suggestions, they are not to do with the design because i think the design is superb, but when I came to this deviation I had an idea (well two really).
The first one I would be able to help with, you could turn this image into a webpage so when you hover over certain houses or aircraft it would say who lives there or who owns it, and then once they are clicked it would take you to a page with information about that person on.
The second idea I could not help so much with, it is basically the same as my first idea but with some extras, instead of turning it into a html based file you could make it a flash file which would let you add animation so that people can really get a feel for your city.
If you would like me to explain in a bit more detail or even lend a hand just ask.
