Yeah I usually am too. But quite often I find that I try to start out light and I just end up unintentionally making everything darker and darker as I go along. Heh heh

Thanks very much! This one is actually fairly old now and I haven't been doing many drawings like this with pencil shading anymore. (especially after acquiring a scanner and photoshop. Hahaha!) I really need to draw more often.
