HEY GUYS! GUESS WHAT I DID ALL DAMN DAY!!

So when I heard the Artist Training Ground on Equestria Daily was starting back up, I was dismissive at first. But then I heard that there was some big story attached to it this time. Apparently every four years, the Griffins and the Ponies hold a great big 'Mock War' to celebrate their 700 lasting years of stable peace between nations. Unfortunately for the ponies, the resulting lack of casualties on the Griffin side has caused the Griffins to have something of a population boom. Thus the scales are tipped unfairly in their advantage and recently the ponies have been eating dust every time the games come around.

Apparently the "Great Archmage Trixie" had the brilliant idea to kidnap humans and transform them into ponies so that they can play in the games and the ponies might have a fighting chance this year. Personally I think she stole the idea from Twilight Sparkle and had to use copious amounts of magical lube to get the job done. (read It's Dangerous Business Going out your Door.)

So I heard the backstory and well... I couldn't help but find it awesome. It was just something I felt I had to get in on, especially since I love Human in Equestria stories (when done well, which they more often than not aren't). So I quickly set about the first assignment: "Draw a pony in uniform."

...Apparently sometime in the last few months while I've been away I suddenly turned into a huge overachiever because I couldn't stop myself from making it into a whole comic.

Now I am exhausted.

I chose an OC of mine for this job. The green pony there is Riddle (human name Jason Thatch). He was originally set to star in a Human in Equestria fanfic that I was writing called "Memoirs of a Riddle," but even though I managed to complete a good four chapters of it, I ultimately scrapped the idea. Not because the story was bad so much as I just lot interest in the project.

So I guess Riddle has a new story now. He's taking part in the Mock War.

Also, since he is an Earth pony, that means he falls on the front lines of things in the mock war. I didn't just want a soldier, but the Earth ponies are generally support in these games ( [link] ), so I decided I'd go ahead and make him a field medic. Because DOKTOR IS CREDIT TO TEAM

And yes, as I'm sure is obvious, his colors and name are inspired by the Riddler. Because Riddler is best Batman Villain.

I don't know if the next Artist Training Ground is tomorrow or if it's a week from now. I can't remember how it worked when it was first going, nor do I know how it'll work this time around. In any case, if the next one is due tomorrow, then I probably won't get around to doing it... or at the very least I won't make something so Celestia-damn huge.
