lol I remember doing that when I was little. was a school outing to big bear. did that with a pole....ripped off some tastebuds from my tongue. was a bloody mess. never gonna do that again!

My cousin did that when we were in Alaska a few years back. Didn't wait for anyone to help him and tried to pull his tounge off the poll. Well, i'll skip the gruesome part but now he can't taste spicy foods at all.

Not really. Little sod had bet me my new snowboard that he could stick his tongue to the poll and get it off again. I thought "it's minus 27 Celsius, there's no way in hell that he could get it off again." and agreed to his bet. Guess i was wrong.

I speak from past experience when I say that if you do this it hurts and you bleed if you tear your tongue off without using any water. I couldn't taste for nearly a month because I ripped off about three layers of tongue... Then and ONLY then did my two friends say they could have gotten water so I wouldn't have hurt myself. I wanted to hit them so badly, but it's hard to hit your friends when you're trying to keep from swallowing blood. Ever time I hear about the movie Christmas Story I can't help but laugh and sometimes bite down on my tongue slightly.

They said they could have gotten water. Implied that I should have asked. Wanted to hit them because I'd never known that and I couldn't exactly ask with my tongue stuck to a pole. One of them did walk with me part of the way back to my house though.
