Hey so I heard about this cool new challenge going around the internet----
Yeah, I did start this right about when the challenge had a lot of traction! In reality, this photo of me... well, I've grown my hair longer and cut it, twice I think, since it was taken. But that's no reason not to share this!! Also my birthday was just a couple of days ago and I figure a self portrait is the kind of think to share around then, right?

I'm really happy with how this turned out in the end. There was some progress that I lost on the hair that I was super happy, but I lost it and had to redo it. I'm a big fan of how the colours turned out, I'm still learning to use colour abstraction, throwing in pops of bright, out of place colours, and have it look right. Other things about this piece... It was done all on my phone! I have a galaxy note with the pen and all, and I use Autodesk Sketchbook on there to do some art stuff. Most of what I do on there though is in tandem with working on the laptop. This is the one polished work I've done fully on my phone. I did this initially with a semi-transparent white layer over the half I was painting to rough in the colours and shapes, and then I worked from there only using the photo side as my reference.
