Description I climbed into the car and put on my seat belt.  A man in a brown coat walked up to the window and tapped lightly on it.  He had crooked teeth and a black well worn hat on his head.  The window was lowered and he asked if we could spare 4 dollars.  He had no gas for his car, and it would be towed if he didn't move it.  Before he began speaking I had reached for my purse.  I had only a 10.  It was the 10 I needed to pay back my mom with for christmas presents. It was the only cash I had left on me.  Without thinking about any of this, I handed him the money.  He accepted it and moved on, presumably towards his car.   I do not know if his story was true.  I do not know if he was going to buy drugs or alcohol with my 10 dollar bill.
There was no thought about the money I owed my mom, there was no thought about how the money would be spent.
It was a simple exchange of american currency between two human beings in a parking lot. This action was done on gut instinct, on pure impulse and it felt right.
