Growing like a bloom in winter,

Beating swiftly as a bird,
Against my flesh,
I try to stunt it,
But it takes root,
Devouring an empty pit,
I forgot to mute,
My mask has broken,
I try to hide my smile,
You have saved me from myself,
Not knowing all the while,
You were going to stay by me,
I used to fear your departure,
