It took a while for me to finish this one because I became a bit discouraged. One of my friends commented that even though it's a nice-looking painting, it still looks "trashy" because... well, it's painted on trash.

I'm trying to come up with a new approach to working with commonly discarded materials, since much of the intent is to divert waste, to turn something that's usually thrown away without much thought into art.
I have some ideas... Experimentation forthcoming.

Media: Acrylic paint + acrylic gloss gel on a black plastic platter. (It is currently not economically viable to recycle black plastic where I am, so I collect used disposable platters from catered events to divert them from the landfill.)
