This is what I respond with whenever something like UMAP comes along. The blonde girl is my bff, and she's usually the one to question my tastes in fandoms. No worries, though. She likes UMAP, too. (btw we're not as fat as we look in the pic lol)

And here's my question: when an American visits France, do French people prefer it if Americans at least try to speak their language (even if they aren't that great at it), OR would they rather have them speak English so they wouldn't keep fumbling over their words?
I'm not sure which would be more annoying to the French; butchering the French language, or expecting the French to know our language?

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell honestly i don't really know ( cause i live in one of the poorest part of France XD Alot of famers etc)
But it's like everywhere some prefer english other french. If you want to visit big cities ( Like Paris ) you can talk english ( i think, cause you know big cities= <3 visit)But if ya want to go to small cities you must at least know some epxressions. I know sme people who just can not speak english XD. From my point of view, i always found really cute when foreign people try to speak french. You know the common expressions. Some has great accent too ( i found it rather sexy...sometin not that much too XD)
So, if you want to go to France you may need some useful expression because i can't really tell if people love or hate when english talk to them. (It does not bother me that much :U. Try at least to speak french if they don't get it just ask in english XD
