Standing there, amidst the sea and the stars, the full moon shining brightly behind him, illuminating his pale white skin, and with cherry blossoms fluttering past in the twilight breeze, he seemed almost beautiful, almost surreal.

Maybe he was. This was, after all, the realm of twilight.

I had seen him before, this beautiful angel of Death. He had visited me before, haunting my every dream. I had never even seen him, and yet the memory of his face was as clear to me as my own. With a smile on his bloodstained lips, those eyes full of loving hatred beckoned me.

"Welcome back," was all he said.
