Comments then: Earthbound fanart?! Eartbound fanart. Matt and Rusty have been Mother 2 fanatics since before I met them. And they'd frequently make references to it, or quote some of the nigh-infinitely zany dialogue, And everyone else in the chat would sort of... be left in the cold. I'm more than certain Rusty has all Onett cop lines committed to memory. Well, anyway, I am now in their little club.

After Matt's hand injury, he couldn't really... play any games. Earthbound was just about the only game he felt like playing that only required one hand. So we played through it, pretty thoroughly, I believe, but I'm pretty much obsessed now. I made a Ness costume. I'm making a Paula dress for Halloween (which I'll wear to my new job at Gamestop), and I'm making Mr. Saturn plushies. Is it bad? Oh, yeah, it's bad.

So we have this. An unusually daring foray into perspective, which I've been forcing myself to try to do more of, since sitting around and complaining about how I can't do it doesn't really get me anywhere, surprisingly. I'm still in search of the style I'll use for my EB art, as you'll quickly see that it's a little (and in some cases, a lot) different everytime, but I'm still very pleased with how it came out. It was far more trouble than it should have been, and was shuffled between no less than three beastly, uncooperative programs.

Comments now: I'm still very happy with this, though the perspective phailure is terribly obvious on Jeff. I always do Jeff the worst. Poor Jeff. Anyway, I still love this picture, one, for its crayon-like, childish textures, soft coloring, and the way that it really epitomizes Earthbound as a game. You get this, or you don't, and if you do, you're in "the club" too.

This one actually won Starmen.net's Fanart of the Week immediately after being posted, and the mod who picked it said some lovely things about it. That made me happy.
