Argiope aurantia the yellow orb web spider.
we have thousands of species of orbwebs in australia, you would probably hate ours, the golden orb web here in australia, its web is so strong aborigines used to grab two sticks and catch it then use it to catch fish in the river..
I got stuck in one once, it was so hard to get out of it i freaked.

We have tons of those things in our garden.
Don't know the real name, but we call them Zipper Spiders because of the webs.

Wow.. this guy does look badass. You should really find out if it's dangerous or not just to be on the safe side.

They are called black and yellow garden spiders (often mistaken for banana spiders which are poisonous) they are ikly and all around where I live >.< scary scary spiders but are supposably non threatening!
