Yeah, this was taken very close to Sanjo station. It's at the corner where the Shirakawa takes a sharp turn south towards Gion. Did you go there?

A long time ago, yes. That canal looked very familiar. One of my favorite places to walk around Kyoto. And I just happened to be exploring at the height of the Hanami season as well. The light was streaking in and hitting the Sakura trees just right. Petals filling the canal. So beautiful, almost surreal.

I see. You must have been there in a great season. This year the blossoms were a bit uneven and the rain hitting at the wrong time. Hope you can travel and see the blossoms again.

Yes, I was very lucky. Also walked right into Maruyama Koen at just the right time when it was in full bloom, at sunset. Didn't know where i was going. Just exploring. 

Hope to take my kids there someday.
