Finally got around to designing my OC for The Dark CrystalHer name's Caprina, not sure what kind of creature she is. I just kinda took the Gelfling base design and threw some horns on it.

She looks nice. Her look is quite original for this fandom. I created a number of OCs for the Dark Crystal myself.

They are a race of people that are like similar to elves, but they all have silvery hair and their skin ranges from light magenta to indigo purple. They are allies of the Skeksis.

I think I'll start at the top with their queen. Queen Medwenna is a woman who has great pride in her people. She often leads on the front lines when there's conflict and that is how they came to the attention of the Skeksis. After some of her hunters rescued one of them from a wild beast, Emperor SkekSo wanted to meet their leader. He was pleasantly surprised to find it was a woman and they worked out an alliance between them. Medwenna and SkekSo are not married, but they tend to act as if they are when around each other. It's obvious to anyone looking that those two are into each other, and they're not shy about showing it in front of others.

One thing that's interesting though is that Emperor SkekSo goes out of his way to make her feel that she has equal say in what their peoples do together. He really does see Medwenna as an equal, which is quite rare for the Skeksis on the whole. As a pair, Medwenna is the more impulsive one and sometimes has to be reined in by SkekSo, who is more level-headed about situations.

Dunno if there's one you ship with SkekSil, SkekTek, or SkekMal. If so, I'm interested to hear about them.

It's more that SkekSo is setting the example of what a smart leader needs to be. If the two of them played games of strategy against each other, he would win every time. While Medwenna understands the importance of strategy, she doesn't always have the patience needed to see it come to fruition like he does. These two offer each other what the other is lacking. As for those three, I have a ideas for SkekSil and SkekTek at least. I'm still learning about SkekMal in terms of personality.
In terms of the alliance between these two races, each Skeksis has one of her people act as a personal assistant to them. About a week after the potential candidates arrive at the castle, the Skeksis pick one at random who catches their fancy. It's done this way to both give these new servants time to get acclimated at the castle and to discourage favoritism until they've paired off. But there was one who was the talk of the whole castle: the beautiful Zhalia. She became the cause of the rivalry between SkekSil and SkekUng. Zhalia just happened to smile at SkekUng; SkekSil noticed this and decided he had to have her. He began to make friends with her in secret, bending the rules without breaking them. And then came the day that the Skeksis would take their pick. It just killed SkekUng inside when SkekSil stopped in front of Zhalia and said "I'll have her." Zhalia herself never knew she was a playing piece in one of his games.

SkekSil may have started out faking an interest in Zhalia, but something happened during his secret courting. Somewhere along the line, his fake interest in her...stopped being fake.

Her name is Keigha, or Kei, a genius seamstress who designed many of the garments their people wear. She's a mute, so instead of words, she uses color and intricate patterns to express how she's feeling.

That actually works better than I thought it would. I had almost forgotten about him, there's a few Skeksis I don't know the professions of.
Keigha also has a twisted side, sewing together live creatures for her own amusement. She secretly aided SkekTek in the creation of the Garthim with her abilities.
