Description Cool scar from a webcomic I'm reading, I had to draw it and I've found that combining it with another another artists way of drawing scars just made everything click for me. It's the first time the scars I've drawn have really made sense in my head as I draw them and they come across so clearly as scars.

-tiny rant warning-
This is the part about figuring out your style that nobody really talks about. I think it's because most people feel like they're stealing when they combine bits of other's styles to incorporate into their own, but I read a wise quote once, "A thief takes from one, a master takes from many." Nothing just appears, it all evolves from something and it can't evolve into something new without absorbing elements from everywhere it's been. Your style is a recipe compiled from all the things you like in art, so my advice is this: Don't be afraid to add things to your recipe, as long as you are constructing your own recipe and not just copying down the other, you're fine. If your recipe feels too much like someone else's, search for different ingredients in places you've never ventured before; even pick out things you don't like and think of what suits your tastes that you would replace it with. Less bold lines, thinner fingers, simpler or more complicated eyes. Experiment. Go wild. Nobody can stop you, and you don't like it, shove it into a box under the bed right next to embarrassing childhood phases and awkward things you've said and never speak of it until you're ready to stare your mistakes in the face and say, "Yup, that happened.". Or burn it immediately and flush the ashes, whatever floats your boat.
