I made customized brushes to create a brush that makes 'strands' of hair. That way it's easier to create a more realistic feel to hair.
I also blend hair with my brushes. I just continuously keep blending until I like how the hair looks ^w^

I either read it just before anime aired or saw first episode and then immediately after it read the manga. I don't remember exactly but I do know I was watching as it aired already knowing the manga and dreading the certain episode. Was kinda hoping they will change it for animu lol especially since initial info said it will be 25 ep long.
