Oooh, I forgot to add... how long did it take you? And what size paper is it? Drawing takes me ridiculously long to do. To fill an A2 sheet it takes me about 20 hours.

Hey, I signed up to this website just so that I could comment on this drawing! It is absolutely amaaaazing! I love Eminem and this is just excellent. I swear I even saw it as the cover art for an item on Amazon? Anyway, I'm 15 years old and reasonably good at drawing (but no-where near as good as this) and I wanted to attempt to draw a photorealistic portrait of Eminem like this in the summer. What like materials do you use? Like what type of pencil, rubber, paper, blah, blah blah. And would you by any chance be able to direct me to the reference photo you used? Or say where you got it? Does it have to be a large image to work from? Sorry about all the questions, it's just his has really inspired me. It's absolutely amazing!

First of all I would like to thank you for your praise and appreciation of my work, and I'm flattered that you would sign up to DA just to comment on one of my drawings.
This drawing was done on A4 paper using Faber Castell 9000 pencils, blending stumps, putty rubber, mechanical pencil, electric eraser, wolff's carbon pencils...
The better quality and resolution the reference image, the better your drawing will be. If you can see all of the little wrinkles and creases in the skin on a photograph, you'll find it easier to achieve a better likeness of the person/image you are drawing

By the way... Did you know that it is being used as the cover art for a mixtape of his? [link] I've compared the cover and your drawing, and they are definitely exactly the same. It sells in like lots of major retailers...

This is awesome! The details around his eye area are really what make this great, but the picture as a whole is fantastic as well. I do have a question, though - why is he wearing a knuckleduster? Was this drawn from a source image in which he was wearing one, or was there a reason you drew him with one?
