Description
Inspired by the incredible character designs by Shaiger here on DeviantArt, I've decided to go a tad off- canon for this poster! Human Aku Aku is finished! It was an awesome challenge turning Shaiger's old character design into a cg-ified, Pixar-esque painting! He was definitely the hardest element/character to create for this Crash Bandicoot piece thus far, though that could change! Listening to alot of great pacific music and the Moana soundtrack helped with the feel of this greatly! Stay tuned for more on this BEAST of a poster!Related content

Now This is slick. Doing Aku Aku as a human can't have been real easy, but gotta say there is no doubt at all about who this is even just looking at him. Though going from the expression you gave him, I'd say not much changed for him. He looks pretty concerned about something.

This is a really great concept.
It reminds me of an old throwaway idea Naughty Dog had for Aku Aku.
Originally Aku Aku was suppose to be a Witch Doctor that would help Crash through the masks in order to stop Cortex.
Sadly that idea never made it to finalization, but this picture here, makes me think this is what a real human witch doctor Aku Aku would look like.
You really kept the elements that make him iconic, and they translated well for his human form.

This looks really great! However, there is not a lot of depth to the eyes, and they feel a little painted on. Was that intentional to better represent that Aku-Aku was a mask? Love the design though!Β

I would say so! ( Im not the original designer so im not 100% sure. ) I like to think of him and his bro as once- powerful demihumans from all those years ago that acted as magical tribe leaders before dying and becoming mask spirits. That's just my idea of it though!
