Well, you don't have to worry about that, considering the Hawaiian thing's been proven fake now. I'm sure that when Shadow does appear, they'll treat him with respect. They may soften him up a little, since Boom's a little more comedy- driven, but other than that, I think he'll be fine.
Besides, it already seems like they'll treat Metal Sonic right in the 3DS version of the game!

It come from this guy from Tumblr who claimed he was "working for SEGA" or something like that. A sad attempt at attention...that worked. There's probably a life lesson in there somewhere.

Turned out this 'leak' was bullshit.
The 'lazy' thing rang a little true; Shadow rarely helps anybody in the games unless there's something in it for him. Saving the world counts as being 'for him'.
Apparently Shadow will be more of a 'mercenary' type - and as we all know, if there's one thing cooler than a badass, it's a mercenary badass.
