Here's another OC inspiration info upload!

I came up with the idea of my OC Court a few years ago, before I discovered the manga My little Monster and long after I had seen a play-through of Persona 4. I had a vague cliche in mind for Court, the tough and protective friend. His design was also basically set in stone and hasn't changed much over the years (i.e his hair style and clothing style)

I wanted to add much more to him though and started to try and develop him as well as his backstory. Eventually I found the manga My little Monster and I really liked the character Haru Yoshida. In the manga and anime (the manga has a better ending btw) Haru is a really reclusive guy who is very smart. He got into a fight once at school and suddenly had rumors spread about him that he was dangerous, which prevented him from making any friends, the one thing he really wanted.

With that I came up with the idea that Court would also be talented in some way, so I chose art. Not the typical drawing and/or painting; he can do those and is very good at it but he does many things in the art of crafting. And that's where Kanji Tatsumi had came to mind. I remembered his character in Persona 4. He too was a tough looking guy that many avoided thinking he was dangerous. But he was actually a really cool and sweet guy. He knows a lot about sewing and crafts animal plushies a lot and give them to neighborhood kids.
(I think he would also repair kids stuffed animals too, but I dont entirely remember)
And that inspired me to give Court such a skill and even helped me develop some friendship between him and my OC Korie.

Korie became his first real friend and so he grew attached to her, made her stuffed toys of the heroes in their home town and even protected her. In his teens though, he was often picked on due to how much of a "goody-goody" he looked like. Defending himself earned Court a bad reputation and he had no friends other than Korie and later on in high school, his friend Jonny. He was still pretty lonely before meeting Jonny because Korie's mother tried to keep them apart a lot. But just like the cliche I wanted to go for that Kanji and Haru are, Court is a tough and scary guy on the outside, but really sweet on the inside and only wants to make friends.

And so that's pretty much how Kanji Tatsumi and Haru Yoshida inspired my OC Court. And don't worry, there is much more to Court's character, I didn't just make him another cliche as a whole or as a copy of these two characters that inspired him. I would go on forever here if I went into his character and there isn't too much I can say since I have a comic he's in and I prefer for people to get to know him in that, through his interactions with other characters.
