Here's a recreation I've had on my facebook for awhile here: www.facebook.com/mikebowdenart . This was fun to do! There were a few challenges...knowing my style I had to extend the art area sideways as my male characters are bulkier than John Byrnes, There are also some awkward crossing over of body parts especially with Cyclops and Cap. I had to decide to either change these things completely or leave them in. Anyway, I hope to do more recreations, drop me a note if you're interested in one and check out my facebook for more regular art updates.

Its over 3x A3 sheets which are 29.7cm x 42 cm each. So slightly shorter and wider than comic boards. I use that as it's the standard here in the UK and much better quality than the art boards that comic companies send you....so total size of this piece is 29.7cm x 89 cm.

Very cool image. I don't know that I've ever seen the original from Byrne, so now I've got something to go looking for (that's a good thing!)

Superb, your style reminds me of Art Adams actually. The only instant criticism is that Thing is too tall but artists have drawn him taller and taller over the years ... used to be he was actually drawn shorter than Reed Richards and now a lot of artists draw him taller than Thor.

I'm glad you noticed the art Adams. he's one of my favourite artists. I used to be obsessed with his work. even ran a fan site for some time! lol.... yeah I couldn't decide on the Thing's height and just decided I wanted him taller than colossus. the Thing goes toe to toe with the Hulk so I like drawing him bigger

Believe it or not, Colossus was actually supposed to be taller than the Hulk when he first came along, although only about half as massive. Hulk's become bigger and bigger over the years but poor Colossus has stayed about the same size.

Your welcome Mike! Yeah is always cool when you can mold and use style queues from favorite artists to create your own. I loved John Buscema and Jack Kirby, but I always leaned with Jack's more easy style. Anyway great work and keep creating!

I downloaded the demo of it on PSN but they removed the full game before I got to purchase it, so I'm stuck with a demo being able to play as Spidey/Wolverine/Ryu/Chun-Li and that's it. Still, it's such a great looking game!
