Description Hi guys! Here's a little something different this time! Yes, this is a Raccoons fan art, and yes, I am a fan of The Raccoons. I watched the series back when I was in High School thanks to listening to some the songs from Captain Punjab's short-lived series, Thomas the Bachmann Model, as the man who created it claimed to be a fan of that series, and I got invested myself. It really is a good series, though its not really perfect, its very light-hearted and memorable, and taught simple and endearing morals that didn't shove it down our throats like modern shows did, and the characters were very two-dimensional and likable, especially the main villain, Cyril Sneer. Yes, I do know there is a reboot in the works, but I have no intention of focusing on that. And I hope soon to do a full review on the series, and even plan on doing my own Raccoons fan fiction along with Engines Together.

So for this drawing, I have drawn Melissa Raccoon, one of the main trio and title characters of the series, as she's my favorite character of the series. The reason I like her so much is because she is a very endearing and admittingly beautiful, and is more two-dimensional, as she's not impulsive and arrogant like Bert, not shy or timid like Cedric, and much better-tempered more humble than Cyril. She's very kind, empathetic, wise, and someone you can talk to in need of moral support. She and her husband Ralph are a great duo, as these two are far from a dysfunctional couple you see in modern shows, as they love each other to pieces, and they both clearly have more common sense than the other main characters along with Schaeffer (Then again, Ralph has had his faults to in certain episodes, but I'll get to him soon). In fact, its because of her loving nature, I like her mostly for a personal reason as well, as two of my aunts on my dad's side of the family remind me of her, my Aunt Lisa in particular, as she's one of the few people I'm close with, especially if I need somebody to talk with. so yeah, on a family note, as I love the theme of family in this show too.

As for my drawing of Melissa, I admit, its not perfect by all means, as I'm not to proud of it, as I intended for her to be a little slender, but not like this, but I admit her hips being big in the show I though was very off. But I can't say I tried, as drawing her was pretty hard, and I haven't drawn the other characters yet, but I hope I got them right.

Nonetheless, I hope you guys like it. And I will plan to have more Raccoons content on my channel, and just like the Engines Together Promos, I plan to give my own little bios on each character, maybe! Take care!

The Raccoons is owned by Evergreen Nights.

Your first 'Melissa'? Worry-not. You should have seen my first 'Bert', at the-very bottom of my Gallery.
One thing, though...In what manner do modern cartoons shove Morals-down our throats? Can You give Me a-couple of examples?
It's that I'm unfamiliar with 'modern' cartoons.

Thanks! To be honest, I did other concepts of Melissa, but I just didn't know which I would've wanted to upload to deviantart. As for your other question, well, I'm not so sure about that myself to be honest. In fact, I don't watch a lot of TV these days, just YouTube, and I only put the telly on for any movies I wanna see. They would shove it down our throat by just spelling it out like an annoying after school cartoon that would treat even little children like they're stupid. In good shows, they would let the moral sink in, where they don't say it, but you get the idea about it, I think. Other modern shows, and its not just animated, they just feel too mean-spirited. Hope that helps!

Yeah! The show also gives hints-for example, that crystal is invisible under water...

What I believe is good for a show is that you can teach an important moral, but don't spell it out, as you want to focus on the themes and elements of why people like it. For example, take the PIXAR films like the Toy Story films, Finding Nemo (2003), The Incredibles (2004), to name a few; they don't really spell out what they're trying to teach us, but they just let the characters, action and atmosphere speak for themselves, but you do realize what the movies would teach us because they message the morals of the story into the framework, like how in the 1st Toy Story, learning that jealousy can corrupt even the nicest of people, and the more you think yourself to be special, it can really damage everything you now dearly, and that you have put that aside and work together.

Thanks! Just too ask, what was your experience with The Raccoons? What do you love the most about it? And who is your favorite character in the franchise and why?

If You care to read the description of my Profile Description (at-least the First half of it) in houseofUsher01 , it will explain everything.
Also, in my pic 'Duesenberg Levis' -in both houseofUsher01  , and HouseOfUsher11 ... it will-also explain how Bert Raccoon-led Me to Jesus-Christ.
