Description
The Type 75 is a self-propelled howitzer jointly developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Nippon Steel Works of Japan.

The main gun is a NATO-standard 155mm cannon, and unusually for a self-propelled gun of the 1970s, it has an automatic loading system. However, the propelling charges is manually loaded.

The engine is an air-cooled 2-stroke diesel engine of the same series as the Type 74 tanks. The basic design is the same, but the number of cylinders has been reduced to share engine parts with the Type 74.

At the time of its appearance, this vehicle had the highest level of performance in the world.
However, the Self-Defense Forces did not receive the necessary budget to improve the weaponry, so updates such as longer barrels were never made, and the vehicle rapidly became obsolete...
