I love Raven' hair long, deep and dark, flowing in the wind! I wonder what that she holds onto is? Some kind of power she has that she has brought out through her arms and hands? Raven is an enigma to me. Is there more evil in her than good, and can she really use Black Magic for good? I THINK she's trying to be good, and believes she can best do that by being a superheroine fighting on the side of justice against that of crime, or evil. BUT, what if, on the other hand, she is only trying to CONVINCE herself, and others that she is good by fighting crime--that should prove it! But what if Black Magic is simply not made to be used for good? It's dark for a reason, or two, at least. It's probably evil, so the Black metaphor is used as a figure for the darkness--of Hell, of course, but also for a magic so wicked, and / or so powerful it must be hidden in indiscenable darkness, the scroll on which it is written available only to those who know where to look--Hell? And Raven, though she hates to admit it, is the Crown Princess of Hell, the only child I know of Trigon, Prince of Darkness: she knows precisely where to look, when she needs to--to find covert information--ancient, deep, dark secrets--like her own gleaming black locks, written long, long ago, inspired by the Master of Black Magic, Emperor of the Infernal Regions: Trigon, older than time, maybe like Lucifer, once the Brightest and most beloved of God, but jealous of Him gathered to his evil side 1 /3rd of the Heavenly Host and rebelled against God; was defeated and thrown out of Hell by the King Himself, and thence to Hell. So Trigon is older than time, and the mists of time likewise lay over these magical secrets making them all the more Dark, sequestered, hidden; but Raven knows already or has the knowledge, the Dark Gnosis, of this magic, or certainly knows where to go to find it. Does she use it for good? If she uses it for any reason, CAN she in fact be using it for a price? Is it not so that the Devil will demand his due, sooner or later? So that Raven's reckless use of Black Magic for good may result someday into her conscription==if even that word is applicable: it maybe willing accession--as Queen of Hel, pr Co-Regnant with her father. This isn't just speculation. When you use the devil's stuff for any reason you HAVE to pay him--isn't that the tradition? . . . . Beyond all doubt Raven, my favorite among DC characters along with Poison Ivy, is TORN between good and evil, but she's going to have to face some kind of consequence--except magic she was possibly taught sometime: she'll either have to come to final, favorable terms with her father so she can retain, in fact increase her power, or she's going to irrevokably reject him, losing her own inherited power, her Black Magic-knowledge, except magic she was possibly taught by her mom, even, maybe immortality. But, she'll be good, like her fellow Titans and other Super-heroes--just not so super anymore, small chance for immortality included. . . . Just what Raven is going to do with this apparent "Power-Ball" I don't know. The color of its rays is a little darkish, the same--identical to the darkish inside lining of Raven's lowing cloak. BUT Neither the rays nor the inside of Raven's cloak is black; they're dark reddish in color, and red is traditionally the color of Hell, fire, the Devil, etc.; but at the center of this ball of power a t the zenith, in the nave of the ball, a bright Light shines: God, goodness, the sun, revealing all secrets, the opposite of darkness and Hell (any 'flames' in Hell are used only for punitive purposes; they provide no light): so this is what I think of the Real Raven, and she's brilliantly depicted here: you who are Teen Titan followers remember the episode in which Raven is somehow entranced into thinking she must fulfill "the Prophecy," that she must serve her father. But she goes deep and dark into unconscious, and Raven is a little girl, frightened, alone, dressed in white: so as it happens the Power imminnating from her is her own, the white, bright light at the center is the real Raven, a sweet, innocent, good little girl robed in bright white surrounded by an unconscious, darkling yes, but the home of the Powerful Bright Light that brings out the real Raven, willing to "March into Hell for a Heavenly cause," emerging bright as an angel. . . . . Well, that's it. Brilliant idea, brilliant work--congratulations to you both! You have poetic as well as artistic (visually) artistic imagination.

An intriguing pic... a comic could make tons out of a coverpic like this... I mean, the look keeps open all options.. is she the one casting (then why no freaky eyes and shadow aura around her and all that?) or is somebody holding her capture as if her hands were shackled... oh the stories one could tell from a wonderful picture like this!!
