when i saw this film, i thought this image was really strong and my first reaction was to draw it. well, ive searched for still screen shots of it, ever since, and i found it! i started it last night, just before a job interview. it took about 4 hours. i finished it today at school, and when i got home i quickly added on the text on paintshop pro. one of the songs i was listening to when i was drawing it was actaully 'Mad World' by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews, which is on the sound track to Donnie Darko!Related content

I, too, thought this was an incredibly strong image when I first saw the film. To me, it really emphasises when Donnie has gone over the edge and is taken over by the mysteries of the Tangent Universe, and won't be coming back to reality anytime soon. It shows off perfectly his insanity, insecurity, curiosity, and above all things, his fear. This is one of my favourite moo-vies of all time, and your drawing looks just like a black and white still from the flick itself. I love that phrase ["Wake up, Donnie"] and how it's always used in reference to this picture, as if he's off in his own dream world, imagining six-foot tall bunny rabbits and believing in time travel. You've managed to draw the ripples amazingly effectively; they look almost as if they're made out of real water.
Mad World is a grreat song. Overall- fantastic picture!!
