Description
After a lovely meal of sarmale and pork, he paid his check and rolled up to a petrol station to fill his tank. Everything would be closed by the time he left the Countess’s Game Night, since it would almost certainly then be well into the morning hours. He started on his next routes. He needed elevated views from at least two but maybe three nearby hillsides for an adequate view of the estate. As he slowly ascended along a well-maintained dirt road, he caught his first view of the place. Amazing! No doubt it was the largest piece of private property in the area, and likely the largest private home in Romania… possibly the entire Eastern Bloc, excluding the Sov… Russia itself.

When he reached the top, he pulled off onto the grass and opened his trunk to retrieve his Oberwerk binoculars. They were big and weighty, but at this distance… about 2 kilometers, nothing else would do. Plus, they’d been fitted with a digital camera by Q, so great for evidence. He set up the tripod and adjusted focus and zoom until it was clear enough to count fingers on the grounds-workers. All told, at this hour, there were nearly 20 people visible to him on the grounds. Possibly more than typical due to the big event tonight. He took photos as he went.
