Certainly yes it would be considered a war crime.
Although, this scene is not taking place in our current 2017 where there are Swiss conventions to regulate things like this.
Even so, we know war crimes do occur and however horrible they are this fact remains unchanged.
In this picture I wanted to show a grimly passionate moment where this pilot lady's copilot has just been killed (exampled in the blood spattered glass gunner seat just above her).
The anger and sadness of this moment is meant to have driven her to pry open the hull of the offending pilot and climb out of her own to see "the whites of his eyes" so to speak, before finally executing him.
