Sadly, no. Streetcars had pretty much disappeared in the USA by the time I was growing up. I do remember riding a PCC streetcar in Washington DC in about 1963, when I was ten. According to one Wikipedia post the DC streetcars were dismantled in 1962, so I may be off by a year or two. I also seem to remember seeing abandoned track in New York city,
I spent a couple of weeks in Dubrovnik in 1966, and spent quite a bit of time riding the trams there. I have a couple of photos, which I should probably post. I have ridden various trams about Europe in subsequent trips. Vienna in 1983 and Munich in 2006 come to mind.
On this side of the Atlantic I have ridden the light rail systems in Toronto, Canada, San Diego, CA, Los Angeles, CA, St. Louis, MO, Dallas, TX and probably a few other places that I can't remember right now...
In the late 1990s I visited Hong Kong a number of times and rode the double-decker trams there! I have pictures of these too, but need to scan them.
In the mid 1990s I was a big fan of the program Bahn , in fact, with help from my mother I wrote an English translation of the manual for the program (see: [link] ).
If you ever go to the USA, visit the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Southern California!
