Zetsu found him and saved him, and Kakuzu sewed him up. THAT'S why he only has one eye, and that's why he joined the Akatsuki. It also kinda explains why Zetsu calls him a 'good boy'...but I don't really know. This is just my theory. In fact, all the theories I've believed in have come true...
Naruto's father, for example. It made sense. Yondaime(sp?) Being Akatsuki leader, however, was just downright stupid. So do you see where I'm coming from now? It's just me ranting about what I believe in. Hnn.
