Description Watercolors
9" X 12" yupo paper.

When I was looking for my usual Arches watercolors paper, I stumbled upon this yupo paper that I bought more than a year ago but had never tried. To my amazement, it was so nice, in the sense that I could just wipe off my mistakes and paint over. I had so much fun smearing on colors and I was able to finish the painting in a record time, to meet the deadline

My problem now is how to preserve the painting, for any careless touch will mess up/or erase the paints. Anybody knows?

Hehehe, I've painted the eyes first and it amused me that the eyes seemed to be looking at me "arranging" the fur around his face Thank you Mario for your support

Oh no, it was not hard, it was fun. I was so amazed that I could wipe off the mistakes, so it was not frustrating at all. I also used my finger tip to make the swirls in the fur and it was really enjoyable Thank you dear for comment and fav

After I posted this painting, I googled info about yupo. I found one art instructor telling people to frame yup works...right away, under glass, just like you now advised me. Thank you

Sooo cute. I love that flowers on both sides and the wonderful blue background, too.
For my pastel drawings and also for the watercolors I always use Fixative spray, available in every good art shop, I always buy it at the internet. When you use it first you will get shocked...it looks like all the colors are gone but they all come back after drying.

I have never used fixatives on any past drawings of mine, because I did not think they were good enough to preserve. Thanks for the warning about the possible shock, so that I am aware of it next time I use fixative. And thanks for your perennial support, dear Claudia

Before i forget, you can spray on the painting "FIXATIVE" spray, to preserve it. [link]
the colors are shinining and bright, there is so much movement/vibrations in the texture that its fantastic. makes the image so much a life!
its your best from the last paintings, and it went so fast and smoth for you. maybe thats means that you painted an subject that you like most to paint?... animals?
this painting is great, I realy love it!!!

Thank you You're always so kind with your words of encouragement. Thank you very much for your strong support all these years
You did not even recommend any fixative and too late, I already put it, under glass, in a frame that was just waiting to be use, after all these years of...gathering dust

I have never tried any lacquer spray. But one person here has told me to frame it right away, under glass. And that's what I also read after I had googled

Well glad that is resolved, my father used to add laquer spray and allow to dry. Preserves pretty well but not really sure with watercolors...lol
